Flowers for the Home
Flowers sent to the home are often smaller and subtle in size and more appropriate for a residential setting. They can range in style, from a vase or container arrangement, hand-tied bouquets and even plants. Flowers sent to the home can be more personal and are most likely to be kept by the family at home.
Colours: The most popular sympathy choices include white, pastel or light coloured flowers. Be sure to check if any colours may have any traditional or cultural meanings to the family as this can influence your decision.
Card Message: A small card is included along with the flowers. Your message can include short sympathy message such as “Our condolences on the loss of your _” or “Keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.” Be sure to include your name(s) so that the family knows who the flowers are from.
Delivery: We require the name, full address, and phone number of the person or family receiving the flowers.
When should you order? Since these flowers are not time sensitive they can be ordered any time up until 11:30 am for same day delivery. For pick up orders, you can order any time before closing (6 pm). We recommend sending flowers to the home either the day before the service or after as there is a better chance that someone will be home to receive the flowers.
Flowers for the Service
Flowers sent to the visitation or service are often larger in size to have a more grand appearance at the service. Popular styles include pedestal arrangements, standing sprays, wreaths, crosses and vase arrangements. Flowers sent for the service are often brought to the cemetery for the burial and are not usually kept by the family.
Colours: Service flowers can vary in colour, from all white to colourful flowers. Be sure to check if any colours may have any traditional or cultural meanings to the family as this can influence your decision.
Card or Ribbon Message: You may choose between a card or a ribbon for the arrangement. We recommend sending a small card if you want to include a longer message or if you want to keep your message more private. Alternatively, a ribbon is larger and more visible but does not fit longer messages.
Delivery: Since the flowers are on the larger side we recommend getting them delivered but you may also pick them up yourself. For the delivery, we require the full name of the deceased person, the name and address of the funeral home, and the start time of the service or visitation. The flowers are delivered before the start of the service to provide the funeral home staff enough time to place them in the room.
When should you order? Since funeral arrangements take longer to create and are more time sensitive we recommend ordering them as soon as you can, especially if you require them to be delivered. This is especially important if the funeral home is further away from our shop (outside of Mississauga).
Flowers ordered by IMMEDIATE FamilY
Flowers ordered by immediate family members (or friends organizing the service) may include a casket spray or urn arrangement along with other funeral service flowers. Often they follow a similar style, flower or colour theme (but they are not required to).
Common Questions
When will you bring the flowers to the funeral home?
The funeral flowers are delivered before the start of the service to provide the funeral home staff enough time to place them in the room.
Do the wreaths/hearts/cross/standing sprays come with stands?
No. Stands are provided by the funeral home and are set up by the staff before the start of the service. Please let us know (or contact the funeral home) if the service will be held in a church as they do not provide stands and we must request them directly from the funeral home in charge of the service.
What is the most common arrangement to send for a service?
The most popular service arrangement for us is an all white pedestal arrangement.
What is the most common colour for a funeral arrangement?
The most common colour is white.
What should I write on the card?
Card messages can vary from person to person, but often include a short message with your condolences along with the name or names of the people sending the flowers.
I want the family to keep the flowers after the service, what should I send?
Depending on the family, their values, and their beliefs, we can’t guarantee that they will keep any flowers after a funeral service. If you would prefer the family to hold onto the flowers we recommend sending them directly to their home instead.
What does standard, deluxe and premium mean?
These are the different sizes of our arrangements. Most often the pictured image is the Standard size (unless otherwise stated). Upgrading to Deluxe or Premium will add more flowers and more volume to your arrangement. If you have a certain budget in mind, feel free to give us a call and we can discuss some options.
How many flowers will come in my arrangement?
There is no specific answer to this question as most arrangements are created with mixed flowers. Depending on the size, budget and type of flowers used, the flower count can vary.
If you need any help ordering or want to talk to us in person, feel free to give us a call or stop by our shop.
